Donations are a vital part of the service we are able to offer ladies and children in need.
Often ladies and their tamariki come to us with nothing and require essential items such as food, clothing, hygiene products, cleaning gear and products, furniture, white ware, towels and linen etc. to help them get back on their feet and re-establish themselves in the community.
We are fortunate enough to live in an incredibly generous community – and sometimes we have received so many donations we do not have the space to be able to accept anymore. Because of this we ask that you please contact us first before dropping off donations, as any that we receive without notice, may be passed on to other groups who may require them, and we don’t want to offend anyone in the process (especially if they see something they have donated in another shop).
Occasionally we will have Garage Sales to clear out some of the items that have been here for a while, to make more space for other items we may need. Any money that is made from our garage sales go into providing items or services for our clients. Some items that are donated such as entertainment systems, electronics, or luxury items, may be sold as they money received will enable to help us support even more women with essential items they may need.We understand that some items have sentimental value, and you would love for a women or child to treasure the item as you had. If this is the case, please let us know, and we will ensure that they go to someone who will appreciate it.
That being said there are always certain items we are in specific need of, such as:
- Blankets and Sheets for single and double beds
- Female deodorants
- Toothpaste
- Towels, hand towels and face cloths
